BBT 10- History of The Automoible

Carl Benz

1. The automoible has been around for about 132 years. 
2. a government authority or license conferring a right or title for a set period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention.
3. He use the title "moto car" to describe the auotmobile.
4. In 1888 Carl Benz wife, Berta steps in and drives the invention. 
5. Axial Pivot Steering System, when the both front wheels moved and turned at the same time, this method is still used today. 
6. 2 companies that merged before Carl Benz passed away was 'Benz & co.' and the 'Diamond Motor Company'
7. The experience that he had happen to him was that he was one of the not so many inventors that got to see their dreams come true, the breakthrough of the auotmobile. 

Henry Ford and The Model T

1. His 3 employees suggest that why not make the assembly line move instead of them moving. 
2. Henry Ford made sure that his workers were treated good and got a goo pay so they were committed and wanted to work there. 
3. The first Model T Ford was cost a little over a thousand dollars and was the common man. 
4. The Model T Ford price dropped to $800 then after he made over a hundred thousand more cars, the price dropped to $300. The auotomobile costed a little over $365, and today that would be $7000. 
5. When the Model T was finally sold it offered people the pleasure of travelling without relying on the thought of Rail Roads, the car was our ticket to personal freedom. 

The Ford Edsel

• The name came from his son Edsel, he had great taste and was apparently one of the most beautiful cars of all time. 
• The grill on the car was a one-of-a-kind grill, known as the toilet seat grill. 
• Only after 3 years of its invention, they pulled the car from the line up. 

The Rise Of Henry Ford

• In the 1840's, Henry Ford was a man that was approaching middle age, he was the type of man with  restless personality.
• He wanted to create a 'Horseless Buggy' because he hated horses.
• He read articles and tried to kind of create his own version of the car.
• Many of their companies crashed until they came up with the Ford Motor Company. 

Automobile Timeline

• 1902- The standard drum brakes were invented, the bakes worked by using a cam to force apart to cam shoes 
• 1911- The first electric start was introduced, before these the cars had to be hand cranked. 
• 1935- The flashing turn signals were introduced.
• 1966- Electronic fuel injection system developed.
