BBT 9- Selecting a Digital Camera

When selecting a camera, you want one that would be good enough that it will with stand a larger amount of traveling. When I was looking for a camera, I looked for one that I liked best. I chose a polaroid camera because I like how the pictures print out the bottom and they are very useful. For the camera I chose, its called Vintage Onestep Flash Instant Film Camera. Some specifications about the camera are, the lens is 116mm, f/11 its a heavy duty camera and it comes with 500 polaroids pictures in one film. The camera was made in 1980 and has been used ever since. Some reviews on the camera are here, chick here to see them. After looking at the reviews, it made me want the camera even more because it is very useful because the photo comes right out the bottom and its very hardy because its good quality. After looking at the price I seen that there is two different prices for the same camera.

BBT 9- Digital Photo Editing Examples

Photo 1
  • First we used the "crop" feature to straighten the image and take out unnecessary details within the image.
  • Second we used the "tilt-shift" feature to contrast the photo, to make the photo stand out more
  • Then we used the "dexter" effect under "vintage" so that the photo is brighter, and more appealing to the eye.
  • We then added a frame, because we felt it went well with the atmosphere of the photo.
  • Last, we used the "preset 1" effect under "HDR scape" to make the photo pop more.
Photo 2
  • First, we used the "center focus" effect to focus on the main idea of the picture (the foot).
  • Secondly, we used the "bright 1" under "drama", to brighten the photo up some
  • Third, we used the "miles" effect under "vintage" because the effect fit the photo very well, and made it stand out more
  • Then we used "preset 1" under "HDR scape" to contrast with the vintage effect.
  • Last we cropped it so that the focus wasn't on other parts of the photo
Photo 3
  • First we cropped the picture, to make it a little more closer to the object.
  • Then, we used the "tilt-shift" effect to make the buckleys bottle stand out more.
  • Third we used the "dexter" effect under "vintage" to darken the edges, and make the bottle a bit brighter.
  • Fourth, we added a frame to make the whole picture pop more
  • Last we used the "centre focus" to blur out more of the picture surrounding the bottle.

BBT 9- Camera Techniques

Rule of Third
With using the Rule of Third one, you can see by moving the frame around it will make the picture look more appealing to the human eye. Rather just having everything in the middle of the frame, its of to the side, looking more professional and better quality. When using it, you can easily see that by having your screen spilt its easier to take the picture then thank trying to find somethings main focus.

Fill the Frame
At the first of this video, you can see the picture it not very appealing toward the picture. When you first see it, its not something you would really notice! When you go closer and see that coming up close is more appealing, it looks better quality.

Framing
Viewing something from different angles you can see that it in different ways. Viewing something from an upward angle you can see that it looks bigger. When taking a picture, you can focus on the front of the picture or the stuff behind it. When doing so you can see that its easier to do rather then catching everything in the image.

Point of View
Move around when taking pictures, don't always take it from the same angle you wont get the effect of it. Seeing pictures from different points adds purpose to the image and seeing the images effect. For an example, you can see that the images from different ways of moving around and seeing that it gives the pictures meaning.

Level Horizon
Taking a photo, it should be level. The picture should be in the centre of the frame and seeing it from a straight point of view. Setting the level horizon on the camera or phone you can see that it makes it look better and better quality. When it is a straight view on the camera, its better set for the image.
